Asset Management Planning 101

A wiser friend of mine said to me, “it is all about the process, a software won’t solve that.”

Asset Management Planning (AMP) is a big item for municipalities. Some have been successful, most have purchased a software. Of those that purchased a software, some have hired help to use it, others will squeak by on the minimum on July 1, 2021.

AMP is important, even a really good idea - that is recognized universally. The problem is, municipalities often push the ball down the field by purchasing software as a solution. Unfortunately, they realize: 1) they didn’t have time to do the work and 2) now they have to learn a software.
